maybe next year

im watching you walk by
walking through the crowd
to the front, to the stage
accepting your document
and moving into the world
im watching you walk away
but you haven’t turned yet
you’ve never turned your back
I trust that you wont now
ill be expecting a phone call
saying "life is good, life is great,
I cant wait until you join me"
but I don’t know if I will
im having fun for now
